Talented scrum-half Teddy Wilson has signed a one-year contract extension with the NSW Waratahs for the 2027 Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific season.

The 23-year-old has made 37 Super Rugby appearances for the club to date, scoring seven tries, and said he was delighted to extend his stay at Daceyville.

“It’s great to sign on with Waratahs for another season,” Wilson said.

“This is home for me. I grew up supporting the Waratahs and always dreamed of pulling on the sky blue jersey. Every opportunity I get to wear the jersey, I don’t take it for granted.

“I’m really looking forward to next season. I want to continue to work hard and develop as a player and bring the success to this club that the people of NSW deserve.”

The King's School product, who played his junior rugby for Harbord Harlequins on Sydney's Northern Beaches, is the son of former Reds, Wallabies and 1999 Rugby World Cup winner David Wilson.

He came through the NSW pathways program alongside brother Harry, who was recently nominated for World Rugby HSBC SVNS Rookie of the Year.

Once an Australian Schoolboy champion in boxing, Wilson made his Super Rugby Pacific debut for the Waratahs in 2022 and captained the Australian under-20s side the following year.

On the back of a strong 2025 season, highlighted by finishing a length-of-the-field try against the Chiefs at Allianz Stadium, Wilson was selected at scrum-half for Australia XV’s 71-7 win over Japan XV in Osaka.

He made 14 appearances during the Waratahs' 2026 Super Rugby Pacific campaign, scoring three tries, including one in the club's first-ever victory over the Fijian Drua in Fiji.

“We’re delighted to lock in Teddy for another season,” Waratahs Director of High Performance B-J Mather said.

“His game is developing all the time and he is working his socks off at training week to week.

“Teddy is a really important part of the squad, while he also loves this club and representing NSW. He has shown a massive desire to help us get back to where we need to be.”
