The NSW Waratahs U16s have named their team for Round 3 of the Super Rugby Men’s U16 competition, making minor adjustments following their dominant 96 - 7 win over the Western Force. NSW Waratahs Academy head coach Matthew Evrard said the side was focused on maintaining their standards after consecutive emphatic performances to open the season. “The first two rounds have shown the boys’ commitment to their systems and structure, even when the scoreboard’s in our favour,” Evrard said. “We’ve made a few changes this week to reward players who’ve been pushing hard at training. It’s about keeping that internal competition strong while staying true to how we want to play.” Evrard credited the team’s discipline and execution as key to their early success. “Our ruck speed and accuracy have been real standouts so far, and that allows our attack to flourish across the park. It’s great to see tries being shared between forwards and backs. It shows balance in how we’re building pressure and finishing.” After recording back-to-back victories; 97 - 0 over the Brumbies in Round 1 and 96 - 7 over the Western Force in Round 2. The Waratahs will now look to extend their unbeaten run when they face the Queensland Reds in Round 3.
