The NSW Waratahs are proud to announce a landmark partnership with The Little Big Dairy Co, a regionally based, family-owned business, that will supply the men’s and women’s teams with Australia’s best-tasting, most nutritious, and only premium single-source milk.
Based in Dubbo, NSW, Little Big Dairy is an Australian-owned, family-operated dairy supplier and manufacturer, delivering more than 100,000 litres of fresh bottled milk to customers right across NSW and the ACT each week.
NSW Waratahs CEO Paul Doorn said: “The NSW Waratahs are proud to partner with Little Big Dairy, whose long association with the game at a local and grassroots level, and now also involved at Super Rugby, is a testament to their commitment to giving back to the community.
"Originating from Dubbo in regional NSW, where the NSW Rugby Sports Hub lies, Little Big Dairy shares deep connections with the heartland of NSW Rugby. With three generations of family working side-by-side on the Little Big Dairy farm, this local business has a huge heart and extends the same care they have for each other to the broader community.”
Performance Dietitian for both the NSW Waratahs Men’s and Women’s teams Melissa McElroy said: “Dairy is one of my favourite food groups to prescribe athletes as it contains a good source of protein, carbohydrates, calcium, and Vitamin B12. Milk can also support bone health in our athletes.
“It’s great to be able to provide our athletes with easily accessible whole foods that they can use to enhance their daily intake. Some of the players have incredibly high daily requirements and adding a glass of plain or chocolate milk to meals is an easy, nutritious, and tasty way to get the extra calories in.
“In addition to drinking on its own, all our players enjoy adding milk to their protein shakes and smoothies throughout training sessions to enhance flavour and add nutritional value.”
Little Big Dairy Director Emma Elliott said kicking off the Waratahs partnership builds on the company’s vision to deliver the best-tasting milk to as many people as possible.
"Milk donations are a tangible way for The Little Big Dairy Co to contribute to our community. As a small business, our budget for sponsorship and cash contributions is always tight, however, there is never a shortage of milk in these parts.
"Milk is such a valuable food group. A glass of milk can be a meal in itself.
"Today, 10 years down the track, we are excitedly donating to 25 different breakfast clubs in local schools, and community programs.
"We are a proud dairy farming family from Dubbo NSW, we all work together to supply our single source milk to loyal customers from Bourke to Bondi Beach, so now to partner with the NSW Waratahs is the perfect evolution.
“Our family business is big on supporting the community where we can. We are so proud to lead the charge of not only nourishing our local community but now also some of the country’s best athletes, many of whom have grown up drinking our product.
"We are excited to welcome the NSW Waratahs to be a part of our extended family."
