Ioane Moananu

Ioane Moananu signed for the Waratahs ahead of the 2026 Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific season.

Moananu, who is of Samoan heritage, was born in Auckland and first started playing rugby at Marist Eastern to fill up the team of one of his friend's dad's.

A qualified nurse, the Auckland-born hooker scored five tries in 12 games for the Crusaders in 2025 in their title-winning campaign. He is known for a strong set-piece and his mobility for a hooker.
