Waratah Sid Harvey has won the inaugural Super Rugby Pacific Rookie of the Year award after his breakout season in professional rugby.

Narrabri-born Harvey, 20, made his debut in Round 4 against the Hurricanes as a substitute and went on to have a significant impact for the Waratahs in the competition, scoring 98 points across 11 appearances. As a result, he is the fourth-highest scoring player in 2026.

The winger/full-back was delighted to win the inaugural award and thanked the Waratahs for the support and speed of his development.

"It's incredibly special to win this award. It's the first time this award's been here so to win it, it's pretty cool," Harvey said.

"I'm incredibly grateful to the Waratahs for the opportunity to play so many games and to the coaches, Dan (McKellar), Locky (McCaffrey), Catty (Mike Catt), to back me and all the boys to continue backing me. Letting me make mistakes and letting me learn.

"I think it helped me massively and anything good I did was off the back of other people doing their jobs really well."

Harvey only made his starting debut for Shute Shield side Easts at the weekend, such has been the rapid rise of his career.

His 98 points consisted of six tries, 22 conversions and eight penalties, playing across both wing and full-back.

In the Super Rugby Pacific team of the year, Max Jorgensen was named on the wing after another stellar season in a Waratahs jersey, scoring eight tries in his 14 appearances.

Jorgensen, 21, was towards the top of the statistics charts for various attacking facets in Super Rugby this season, including defenders beaten (46 - fourth), metres gained (884m - fifth) and clean breaks (17 - tied sixth).
