The Waratahs have chosen three trial teams at U15 level for the upcoming Next Gen tournament at Eric Tweedale Stadium in Merrylands on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September.
In total, 76 players have been selected across three sides: Team Gavin (26 players), Team Ella (25) and Team Baxter (25). The sides are named after Waratahs' legends in Tom Gavin, the Ella brothers and Al Baxter.
Newport and Penrith RSL are the most represented club among the three teams with seven players each, while St Joseph's College, Hunter's Hill is the school with the most players with six.
The three sides will face off against the Brumbies U15s, Victoria U15s and Waratahs U14s at the competition in a few weeks' time.
Head of Academy & Pathways Andrew Cleverley was excited to see the new group of young talent in action at the tournament.
"I'm looking forward to seeing these lads step up to the rigours of representative rugby," Cleverley said.
"Tournament-style fixtures like this provide an opportunity for selectors to see players' ability and character.
"It's set to be a cracker of a couple of days out at Eric Tweedale with some thrilling games of rugby."
