The NSW Waratahs have named their team to face Moana Pasifika in Round 14 of the Super Rugby Pacific this Saturday at 2:35pm AEST at Go Media Stadium.

The fixture is a historic one for the Waratahs in that it will be the club’s 400th match in Super Rugby history.

Head Coach Darren Coleman has again had to contend with further additions to an already heavy injury toll.

After only playing his first match on loan from the Glasgow Warriors last week, prop Enrique Pieretto will miss this week after sustaining a neck injury against the Force.

Pieretto’s absence has seen Coleman call upon Harry Lloyd and Michael Scott, who will both make their debuts for the Waratahs on Saturday.

Lloyd has been playing for Brisbane Brothers this season but has previously played for both the Brumbies and the Force at Super Rugby Pacific level. Whilst Scott has been a consistent performer for Northern Suburbs in the Shute Shield this year.

Lachlan Swinton will also miss the clash with Pasifika due to a neck injury, but Swinton’s absence is offset by the return of the wholehearted Ned Hanigan, who will start at blindside flanker.

In other team changes, Tane Edmed comes into the starting side at flyhalf with Jack Bowen joining the reserves list as a back-up.

Izaia Perese replaces Triston Reilly on the wing, with former Fijian rugby league international Vuate Karawalevu coming onto the reserves list to cover the outside backs.

Moana are coming off a 32-24 loss to the Hurricanes and a win by the Waratahs will see the team leapfrog Pasifika on the ladder.
