The NSW Waratahs have invested into the future by signing exciting Sydney half-back Angus Grover on a multi-year contract.
Grover has emerged from the NSW Waratahs Pathways Program as one of brightest Under-age prospects in Australia.
The Lindfield and Gordon junior captained the Australian Under 18s side that defeated New Zealand 2-0 in the two-match series this year.
Grover also captained St Ignatius College, Riverview - where his two brothers and father also played in the First XV - to a GPS Premiership win this year.
Grover will join the NSW Waratahs when they assemble for pre-season training on November 3 at their Daceyville base.
NSW Waratahs Head Coach Dan McKellar lauded Grover’s signing but added that it was secured with one eye heavily on the future.
“Angus is a local Sydney talent who has shown much promise as he has developed through our Pathways program,” McKellar said.
“But by securing him on a long-term contract, we are confident that we can now develop him with time in hand to the next level needed at Super Rugby.
“He has shown in Under-age rugby that he has great talents, including strong leadership skills. He is a mature young man who has an exciting future if he puts in the work.”
